Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted online.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
