Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
