Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a individual who leaped a barrier and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the individual from Australia pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway accompanied by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

Record of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

Some supporters also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.

Response and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore fans had queued up to meet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual interpretation of the popular stage production Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two distinct witches.

The production itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Oscar nominations, securing a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
