Springer contributed to the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.
Canada's MLB team advanced to their maiden World Series since 1993 by beating the Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.
Trailing three runs to one, the star outfielder delivered a three-run blast in the seventh frame, leading the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series win in the series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the reigning title, in the forthcoming championship.
"I'm thrilled for our team, the city, Canada," commented Springer, a key player of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 title. "It's truly an amazing experience."
The veteran has now connected for twenty-three playoff homers, making him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that situation other than him with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.
Seattle's team, after leading the series two games to none and three games to two, remain the sole team never to appear in a championship series.
Manager Dan Wilson said "there's no question that it's painful" following his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but commended their work this season.
"This is a unique group. Sadly that we ended up on the losing end of this game," he remarked.
Toronto's team claimed the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Dodgers in the first game on this Friday.
