Nearly a week following the devastating hurricane struck Jamaica's western region with record force, people in damaged neighborhoods in coastal zones are persistently anticipating for assistance.

Many of the roads are clogged with rubble and people are isolated with limited provisions, lacking utilities, and unknown restoration dates.

Rising Death Toll

The government said on Saturday that no fewer than 28 individuals in Jamaica have lost their lives following the hurricane's impact as a monster category five storm with 185 mph (297km/h) sustained winds.

Agricultural Impact

Of his farm, he said: "It's all wrecked. They all destroyed" But he promptly continued: "We have to give God thanks we're alive"
